This is a very early model, really just the shape of the Suda space station. It starts to give the sense of some of the scale the movie will achieve in places. At this distance, Suda is tiny next to the planet despite being 2KM across.

Caha Flies High
…flies high over an old boat.
The Chake Returns
They head towards the shipwreck of the Pioneer perched on top of a tiny jagged rock of an island. A chake, a sea monster almost as big as the boat, swims lazily along beneath it.
Wreck of the Pioneer
The professor leads the two thugs up to the shipwreck and through an open door. Erlan reaches the surface just in time to see them go in. The sun is setting and he is shivering, his lips blue with cold.
Island Remake
Still trying to make islands… This one is a remake of the first but with better understanding of how to use the engine. There are now some rock pools for Erlan to catch his dinner. The wreck of the Pioneer is gone because the model was too rough. Will probably buy one off the shelf […]
Forest at Sunset
There’s a forest in the story with a road cut into it. This set was built as practice for the real thing.
Temple of the Gods
On the dais, the light from the scanner picks out two huge thrones with an altar between them. Every time the light sweeps past the altar, there is a flash of something golden. Erlan makes his way to the altar.
Meet Our Hero
OK, this image doesn’t stand up to the tiniest bit of scrutiny. In all ways but one, it’s pretty bad. Thankfully, the way it’s good is what it was meant to do: the initial impression. This is where we meet the hero, Erlan.
Play Before Annihilation
There are two main planets in Home Star so drawing planets in UE5 was essential. Channelling my inner Ming The Merciless, I drew Earth. Now only Flash can stop me! Taken from this tutorial.
Mucking Around
My first attempt at doing something in UE5. To me it looks impressive. Right up until you see it’s almost exactly the same as the tutorial I followed.
Metahuman Actors
The first Metahuman actors created for Home Star. They’ll be used to produce story boards and the graphic novel. These are the virtual actors for Rauk, Sovda and Erlan. They don’t have costumes yet.
