Script Jargon
INT. and EXT. are interior and exterior
(O.S.) means off-screen, in other words, we just hear their voice
(beat) means the actor pauses

If you’ve never looked at a script before, it’s not like a novel and can take a little effort to enjoy the format. The fast path is to download the script for your favourite movie and read the first few pages. It gets you used to the way scripts work using a story you already know.
